MLB roundup: Albert Pujols jumps to No. 2 all-time in total base

August 21 21 Albert Pujols went 4-for-4 and hit two homers long as well as Paul DeJong hit a grand slam that helped the St.

Louis Cardinals to winning 16-7 against the home Arizona Diamondbacks on Saturday night in Phoenix.

Pujols also made it to second place on the all-time base list with 6,143.

He has surpassed Cardinals legendary Stan Musial (6,134) and only just behind Hank Aaron (6,856).

Lars Nootbaar reached base five times with 3 hits, 2 walks. 

He scored three runs with two-run triples and an RBI single in the game.

The Cardinals defeated the sixth game in a row, and 17th in the last 21.

 Nootbaar scored with the triple as a result of an Arizona mistake.

Carson Kelly drove in three runs, and Jake McCarthy homered for the Diamondbacks. Arizona pitcher Madison Bumgarner (6-13) gave seven hits in 5 1/3 innings,

while falling to 0-4 over the most recent five appearances. The pitcher struck out three while was walked by two.
