Anne Heche is in a condition of coma and has not yet regained consciousness since the car crash

Anne Heche has not regained consciousness since the moment she was involved in a crash with her vehicle on the streets of Los Angeles on Friday.

Initial reports of the actress's condition stated that the actress was "stable" and firefighters said she had spoken with rescuers while being taken away from the rubble.

However, on Monday , a spokesperson for Heche 53, who is a patient of the hospital, stated: "Despite previous reports that Heche was stable,

shortly after the accident, [she] became unconscious, slipping into a coma and is in critical condition."

Representatives of Heche added: "At this time Anne is critically ill. She suffers a serious lung injury that requires mechanical ventilation, as well as burns that need surgical intervention.

On Saturday , her publicist declared that her condition had been "stable" and her family wanted "thoughts and prayers".

The day before reports suggested that Heche was speeding along an avenue before colliding into the home.

This set off an incident that the Los Angeles Fire Department described as an "heavy fire", which required firefighters for over an hour to put out.

The house's owner did not suffer any injuries, however the structure was declared unsafe to live in.

A page for fundraising is being created to assist the owner to replace her belongings and her home.

The neighbors next door reported to Fox News that the car drove right through their home. "The windows were damaged which is why I opened the back door of the vehicle. Heche answered and told me she was not well, which made it difficult.

I'm sure that they didn't manage to take her out of the vehicle until the fire was basically removed."

Heche is a mother of one son, is most well-known for her role in movies like Psycho, Donnie Brasco, Six Days Seven Nights and Cedar Rapids.
